But how do I get my old HI8 video's imported to my Windows 8.1 computer. I can't find an answer anywhere: I have a dazzle, that worked with my XP computer but not with my 8.1 computer....So what can I do? I am living in the Netherlands, so when I find something and I have to order it from the USA apparently I am facing very high extra costs , as I am considered to be importing high tech stuff....pretty desperate, because i really would like to save all these old tapes from when my daughter was young...

The simplest thing to do would be to find a Windows XP laptop and use it to convert your HI8 videos. You can find a more modern camcorder.

Maybe you could use Windows XP Mode (google it if necessary) on a newer Windows version and run your XP compatible software on it. Good luck!

started with power director v7, was not bad but very slow. I upgraded to v8 thinking performance would improve. No deal, it got worse. I have quad core AMD desktop with 4gb ram. I run Adobe CS4 photoshop with great performance. This software is very disappointing. Also, PowerProducer always hangs at end of dvd creation. wasted more blank dvd's using this product. This is sad...
